Introduction

The Education Specialist will lead the design and support the implementation of evidence-based educational programs in accordance with the Empathy Theory of Change. The specialist will provide support to national offices in developing and implementing strategies and interventions in partnership with Frontline Church Partners to improve the educational achievement of those they serve. They will also support formal and non-formal education interventions, development management, context shaping, implementation, and learning of operating models and strategies that contribute to the overall implementation of the Compassion program.

Through cross-functional collaboration, this specialist will work closely with Child Protection and other technical professionals to ensure and support Enhanced Integrated Programming and information sharing, particularly in the program design and implementation phase. This person will also play a leadership role in supporting and building the capacity of national office staff and relevant stakeholders to increase impact and enable positive change for children and young people.

Report any concerns about child abuse, neglect, or exploitation through Compassion's internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents should they occur.

  • With a focus on Compassion's comprehensive theory of change and results framework, he provides expert educational consulting to country offices.
  • He works with employees to improve the environment for professional growth, in line with compassionate strategies and goals.
  • He leads the design and development of global catalogs of evidence-based guidelines for the field of education (formal and non-formal education), including theory, standards, activities, tools, resources, and indicators.
  • Ensure that educational interventions adhere to the guidelines and programming framework.
  • Contribute to educational interventions by supporting the development and implementation of needs assessment tools.
  • Support the development and implementation of the education strategy for national offices.
  • Review the proposals for complementary interventions (CIV) presented by the NOs and make the pertinent recommendations.
  • Guidance and advice on the implementation of educational interventions, providing feedback and technical support to improve programming and the programmatic approach.
  • Work with other technical sectors to ensure that the needs of children and young people are addressed holistically and that synergy is considered at the design stage.
  • Together with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team, he identifies and develops relevant metrics that are used to track overall education program development and implementation success across the organization. Analyzes data for improvement opportunities and makes recommendations to increase efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Promote a continuous learning environment to support evidence-based interventions for national offices and the Church Front Line Partners (FCP) they serve, to provide holistic development for caregivers, children, and youth.
  • Provide technical advice upon request to national office teams to promote strategies, interventions, and outcomes in education.
  • Serves as a primary leader to direct, equip, and build the capacity of existing educational staff and oversee the initiation of new educational interventions.
  • Participate in the facilitation of shared learning about the field of education through the Global Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Networks with ministries and other like-minded organizations within the industry to identify, evaluate and recommend potential strategic partnerships related to educational interventions.

Working Environment – Remote, work from home. Hours are flexible to meet global neighbor needs. This person will have some late and early meetings.

Travel Requirements – May be required to travel up to 25% of normal schedule
