Job Title: Communications & Campaigns Coordinator

The role holder will communicate with children and/or young people frequently (for example, once a week or more) or intensively (for example, four days in a month or more or during the night) because they work in-country programs; o visit country programs; Or because they are in charge of carrying out the police control/control process.
The purpose of the role:
The Campaigns and Communications Coordinator is responsible for designing and delivering innovative campaign strategies and communications products to support the carbon monoxide defense agenda, increase visibility and create a positive public image for Save the Children Tanzania. The role will collaborate with others in the organization to achieve brand consistency in line with organizational policy standards and donor requirements.
The Campaigns and Communications Coordinator will also be responsible for managing and updating social media platforms and websites, ensuring the quality and accuracy of the information, and in line with organizational policies and procedures.
Scope of role:
Reports to: Advocacy and Campaigns Manager.
Dimensions: Save the Children International, operating in 8 regions in Tanzania with a current staff of over 150 and ongoing expenses of approximately $15 million in 2019.
Business Contacts:
Internal: Advocacy and Campaign Management, Technical Specialists, Program Managers, Information Technology Officer/Assistant, Programs, Operations, Departmental Leadership, Consultants, and Visitors.
External: media, service providers, national and local authorities, partners, including children
Key areas of responsibility:
- National campaigns:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of the Save the Children campaign(s), providing leadership and support to area program teams
- Lead the design and implementation of campaign activities while seizing key moments to achieve CO2 campaign goals.
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative strategic relationships with the Save the Children campaign team, including those from the regional office and program teams, ensuring consistent and high-quality results.
- Define and lead innovative campaign partnerships and alliances, and build and manage strategic relationships to achieve greater impact for our work.
- Coordinate Save the Children Tanzania's participation in regional and global campaigns by contributing stories, videos, photos, etc. Highlight the country office within these initiatives
- Responsible for developing and publishing the products of the Save the Children campaign aimed at different audiences.
External communication
- Support the development, positioning, presentation, case study content, images, messages, fact sheets, and multimedia for Save the Children's key general audience.
- Responsible for all published documentation, ensuring that all published communication materials are in line with Save the Children's global brand policy and donor guidelines.
- Work closely with program teams, Program Development Manager, Advocacy and Campaigns Manager, and Country Director on conceptual design, graphic design, and production of materials for fundraising, campaigns, and advertising.
- Produce other specific external products on an ad hoc basis as needed and at the request of the supervisor.
- Coordinate media engagement to ensure adequate and effective coverage of Save the Children's work.
- Manage social media platforms and websites to ensure regular updating of high quality materials and consistency in line with SC policies and procedures. You will be asked to work with teams to ensure information is accurate in response to public input.
Intercom:
- Lead and support the program team in the preparation of communication product project briefs, report highlighting, operational features, etc. To the country office and field offices as needed.
- Compilation and development of national monthly, quarterly and annual Save the Children reports and newsletters
- Provide leadership for the content and design of creative promotional materials such as flyers, fact sheets, info graphics, creative audiovisual information, brochures, and other communication materials.
- Lead the development of the communications calendar while prioritizing procedures and products for the country office
- Coordinate and support the country office team in the launch of the Save the Children brand through field offices and projects that ensure the quality and consistency of the brand.
- Strengthen internal communication channels for employees, such as the workplace, etc., as well as ensure that employees have adequate knowledge and full participation.
- Documentation and information management:
- Responsible for documenting and publishing internal success stories and program results.
- Responsible for the consistent and effective flow of information relevant to Save the Children activities, keeping relevant teams abreast of all internal and external developments.
- Responsible for country office staff in monitoring external sources of information (news sources, products, partner products, etc.) relevant to Save the Children's work in Tanzania, synthesizing relevant summaries and sharing as appropriate.

Qualifications and experience
- A degree in a related field, such as mass communication, public relations, journalism, or any other related field.
- 5 years of experience working in communications, campaigns, documentation, or lobbying
- Strong understanding of approaches to communicating information to a wide range of audiences.
- Advanced proficiency in design software, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and InDesign
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, respond to outside requests, and strong team player.
- Excellent communication skills with a good command of the English language. Knowledge of spoken and written Swahili is desirable.
- Ability to review and edit reports and products (in English) for publication and broadcast.
- Experience in identifying target audiences and developing campaign and promotional strategies to engage, inform and motivate existing and potential partners.
- Willing and able to time travel across mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar to support field teams when needed
