Abstract:

We have re-imagined the African tourism and hospitality delivery model and are now seeking an energetic, creative, entrepreneurial, reliable, outgoing, customer-focused, enthusiastic, experienced, and intelligent Tanzanian Sales Superstar as our next Tourism Sales Manager. The Tourism Sales Manager will be responsible for leading the development and rigorous implementation of national and international sales strategies and tactics with a view to attracting tourists to use the services of the FCAs. This exceptional individual must possess excellent sales and communication skills in customer relations, be aggressive in seeking new business, and strive to consistently exceed established sales goals. The job is independent and demanding, but also rewarding for someone who doesn't need to be told what to do to get things done.
First Class Africa is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with an expanded team from the United States of America (USA).
Job Title: Safari - Tour Sales Manager

Basic Duties and Responsibilities:
- These duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by the person assigned to the position. It is not intended to be a complete list of all duties, responsibilities, and/or skills required. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
- Working closely with the company's senior management, you will be tasked with creating and implementing the company's domestic and international tourism sales plan. You will report directly to the top management of the company. His responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide industry-leading leadership and manage all tourism sales activities within the company, including participation in the preparation and administration of the annual budget; comprehensive research and development of market segment targets; Develop and implement sales campaigns and interaction with the industry.
- Recruit, manage and train sales staff
- Develop and implement a training program for tourism sales executives throughout the company.
- Effectively manage the sales department for individuals or organizations, according to company standards and achieve optimal financial results.
- Identify growth opportunities, solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through various efforts to maximize company revenue and meet or exceed individual and group sales goals.
- Responsible for project development and/or safari marketing activities, including promotion of special events, promotion of industry awareness, information tours, and development of site visits.
- Continually develop and improve relationships with key stakeholders, travel and business accounts, community organizations, and professional associations to maintain high visibility and increase FCA's market share.

- Partner with the social media team to develop marketing campaigns and help boost the company's online presence.
- Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with travel partners, airlines, local hotels, attraction managers, hotel managers/sales managers, and other members of the hospitality industry in coordinated sales efforts.
- Track and report all daily sales activities, including production status from target to current status, while performing general administrative tasks, including correspondence, writings, archiving, and transcription.
- Prepare detailed sales presentations/roadmaps (from start to finish) for clients with clearly defined terms and conditions
- Recommend sales, operations, service, and product enhancement strategies to senior management and strategic partners of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to fully capture target markets
- Evaluate promotional events, trade shows, community, and industry events, etc. to ensure that you assist them Other duties as directed, developed, or assigned by senior management from time to time
Minimum requirements
- A minimum of three years of similar sales experience in hospitality, tourism, destination management organization, tourism-related entity, or appropriate field is required. On-the-job training will not be offered. You are expected to perform your job effectively on the first day.
- Proven tourism sales experience and willingness to deliver superior results within tight deadlines without close supervision.
- Passionate and has a verifiable history of selling safari/tourism/other wildlife packages locally and internationally.
- Strong, well-established relationships with the domestic and international travel trade.
- Knowledge of marketing practices and strategies, marketing experience, or experience collaborating with marketing teams.
- Demonstrate relationships with homeowners, tour providers, and guides throughout Tanzania
- Adapt quickly to evolving market dynamics and continue to maintain FCA's competitive position
- You must possess excellent organizational, advocacy, and communication skills along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- You must set daily priorities, handle multiple tasks, and be willing to participate in projects of varying degrees of difficulty.
- Extensive knowledge of the main tourist destinations in Tanzania
- Expert in marketing and sales of destinations.
- Ability to give oral presentations to groups of different sizes.
- Valid Tanzanian driver's license and must know how to drive different types of vehicles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Swahili and English with an emphasis on persuasion, negotiation, and action generation.
- Must be able to prepare appropriate reports, correspondence, memorandums, agreements, and budget forecasts in a professional manner.
- The successful candidate must also be qualified to make critical decisions, be comfortable in a stressful, high-energy, service-oriented environment, and be able to manage multiple roles and priorities.
- High level of attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Act as corporate public relations representative for travel and tourism, corporate travel professionals, and travel and event industry associations to promote and promote business before the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
- Be an active member of industry organizations and networks.
- Consistent accuracy, time management skills, and detailed direction.
- Uniform / clean / polished appearance is required

- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.

- Formal courses or training in nature/wildlife/hospitality management or similar training is very helpful
Education:
A university degree, diploma, or equivalent training and specific and verifiable experience in tourism/safari sales are required.
Technical Skills: Computer Knowledge, CRM, Advertising, Internet, Various Social Media Platforms, MS Office
Package, 3rd party apps, willingness to learn new systems, cold calling and marketing skills are required, as well as a level of confidence with numbers (sales, costs, and margins). Successful candidates must be able to read and understand maps, reports, and graphs.
